Montreal Swing Riot 2014 – Lindy Hop vs Hip Hop

Posted on

Montreal Swing Riot is a dance event that promotes Lindy Hop, good swingin’ jazz and the Montreal street culture. A venue for people to express themselves and leave it all out on the dance floor. A moment that unites dancers and spectators together in shared creativity and inspiration.

This video features the Invitational Battle Lindy Hoppers vs. Street Dancers at the 2014 Montreal Swing Riot which happened this past summer. In the video you will see the Crossver rounds (Lindy Hoppers dancing to Hip Hop and Street Dancers dancing to Jazz) It was such a fun event and as a locker it was a nice way to show respect to a dance form that came before locking but had a very big influence on the dance style as well!

Street Dancers: 7Starr, Rawss, Bourrik, Mean Jean (Ddimplz), Soulstep, Scramblelock, Boombeast, Namco, Jigsaw.

Swing Dancers: Aleix Prats Ferrer, Anaïs Sékiné, Antoine Simard, Annie Trudeau, Zack Richard, Lunou Samson-Poirot, Jonathan Desroches, Marie-Anne Rochon, Alain Fragman, Gina Helfrich, Jon Tigert, Jenna Applegarth.
